Why Written and Not Digital?
Because it works, and it works BETTER!
In Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World by Cal Newport, Newport emphasizes "deep work" - focused, undistracted quality work time. Devices are full of distractions - news, social media, constant dings, and busyness - designed for consumption and constant interruptions. It is better to minimize use wherever possible, and one way to do that is to get back to a paper planner! In addition to less blue light, writing helps with recall, and this practice can become a relaxing reflection.
